DIRECTIONS FOR PROPER LENS CARE

CLEANING HANDS:

Before handling contact lenses, hands should be washed thoroughly to remove potential lens contaminants.  We recommend an optical hand soap free of oils, cream, fragrance, and dyes.

CLEANING:

  • Wash and rinse your hands using hand soap prior to handling lenses.

  • If cleaning your lenses over a sink, make sure the drain plug is in to prevent loss.

  • Remove right lens and place in the palm of your hands. NOTE: Always follow the same order to prevent mix-ups.

  • Cup hand and cover lens with 10 drops of Menicare GP CDS solution.

  • Rub lens for 30 seconds with index finger of the other hand creating a sudsy pool of solution.

  • NOTE: The greater the sudsing action, the better the cleaning performance.

  • Rinse the lens thoroughly with tap water or saline.

  • Place lens in right chamber of lens storage case recommended by your eye care professional.

  • Repeat with left lens.  Place in left chamber of  lens storage case recommended by your eye care professional after cleaning.

  • Proceed to directions for DISINFECTING/STORAGE.

DISINFECTING/STORAGE:

  • Use fresh Menicare GP CDS solution to completely cover the lenses in  lens storage case recommended by your eye care professional. ALWAYS USE FRESH SOLUTION FOR DISINFECTING AND STORING LENSES.

  • Close the case tightly and store the lenses in the unopened case for at least six (6) hours.

WETTING/INSERTION

  • Wash and rinse hands using hand soap prior to handling lenses.

  • Remove right lens from  lens storage case recommended by your eye care professional.

  • Rinse all Menicare GP CDS solution from the lens using fresh tap water or saline.  (Make sure that your sink drain is closed.) All Menicare GP CDS solution must be removed from the lens since it will sting and cause irritation if instilled directly in the eye. (SEE: important Safety Information section which follows on opposite page.)

  • Apply 2 drops of Menicare GP WRW Drop to each surface of the lens WITHOUT rubbing the lens.

  • Insert the lens as instructed by your eye care professional.

  • Repeat the procedure with the other lens.

REWETTING AND IN-THE-EYE LUBRICATION

  • When eyes feel tired or dry, instill 1 or 2 drops of Menicare GP WRW Drop directly into the eye while the lenses are still being worn.  This will help rewet and rehydrate the lens for continued comfort.
